Looking Refreshed—Not Different
Facial aging is a complex process that involves much more than wrinkles alone. Over time, collagen production declines, facial ligaments gradually lose support, fat pads shift downward, skin becomes less elastic, and bone structure subtly changes. The result may be a softer jawline, loss of cheek definition, deeper folds around the nose and mouth, jowling, and skin laxity.
Many patients assume these changes require surgery or large amounts of dermal filler. In reality, restoring a youthful appearance often begins by addressing tissue position rather than simply replacing volume.
PDO thread lifting is a minimally invasive procedure designed to reposition selected areas of facial tissue while stimulating your body’s natural collagen production for continued improvement over time.
At Dallas Medicine & Aesthetics, every treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation because no two faces—and no two treatment plans—are exactly alike.
Our Philosophy
Lift First. Restore Volume Second.
One of the most common reasons patients appear “overfilled” is that volume is added before the underlying facial tissues have been properly repositioned.
Our approach is different.
Rather than treating facial aging with a one-size-fits-all strategy, we first evaluate where structural support has been lost. When appropriate, we use PDO threads to gently reposition tissue before determining whether regenerative volume restoration with PRF or Sculptra® would further enhance the final result.
This philosophy allows us to create results that are balanced, natural-looking, and customized to each patient’s unique facial anatomy.
What Are PDO Threads?
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are absorbable medical sutures that have been safely used in surgery for decades.
When placed beneath the skin by an experienced medical provider, PDO threads serve two important functions:
• Reposition selected areas of facial tissue
• Stimulate your body’s natural collagen production as the threads gradually dissolve
Unlike traditional surgery, PDO thread lifting requires no general anesthesia, no surgical incisions, and minimal downtime for most patients.
How PDO Threads Work
After placement beneath the skin, PDO threads create immediate structural support while initiating your body’s natural healing response.
Specialized cells called fibroblasts begin producing new collagen around each thread, helping improve skin firmness and support over the months that follow.
Although the threads naturally dissolve over time, the newly formed collagen continues helping support the treated tissues.
This combination of immediate lifting and long-term collagen stimulation makes PDO threads unique among facial rejuvenation procedures.
Conditions PDO Threads May Address
Depending on your anatomy and treatment goals, PDO threads may be used to improve:
• Mild to moderate facial laxity
• Midface descent
• Early jowling
• Jawline definition
• Neck laxity
• Brow position
• Marionette lines
• Nasolabial folds
• Overall facial contour
Treatment recommendations are always individualized following a comprehensive facial assessment.
